Charles Jordan Community Center North/Northeast Instructor Afterschool Assistant Charles Jordan Community Center, part of Portland Parks & Recreation, is seeking part-time After School Staff for the remainder of the 2018-2019 school year. Requirements for After School Staff 1. Experience working with children ages 5 - 12. 2. Ability to work with families and children from a variety of socio-economic and ethnic backgrounds, especially in a community center setting. 3. Citywide Citywide Conservation (Outdoors) Environmental Education GRUNT is an outdoor program which connects diverse youth to nature and environmental careers through stewardship, environmental science, job readiness training and outdoor recreation. Our summer program meets Monday - Friday from approximately 9am - 5pm. We spend every day outdoors. GRUNT is a partner of the 9th Grade Counts Collaborative of All Hands Raised. This partnership strives to reach students in the gap between 8th and 9th grades, a time in which they are particularly vulnerable to dropping out of school. Citywide Citywide Conservation (Outdoors) Youth Conservation Crew—Teen Crew Member YCC is an environmental job program. Not only will you work hard protecting nature in the City,but you will also discover exciting careers in natural resources, develop job skills, and experience some of the most beautiful places in Oregon. There are three different types of jobs: Tree Crew, Trail Crew and No Ivy League. SUN School North/Northeast Sports & Fitness Instructor PP&R's Roseway Heights SUN Community School is a hiring a Sports instructor to teach a soccer class to middle school students on Wednesdays from 3:30pm-6pm. Students in the class have varying skill levels, and the focus is on building students social skills and providing a structured environment for them to scrimmage.
