Citywide Citywide Recreation Inclusion Assistant Portland Parks & Recreation is hiring inclusion assistants for our Adaptive and Inclusive Recreation program. Inclusion assistants work 1 to 1 with children with disabilities in preschool and afterschool programs, as well as sports and dance classes. These are part time positions (5-20 hrs/week), so they are a great opportunity for college students, especially those studying special education, autism, speech therapy, occupational therapy, etc. Full time hours are available during school holidays and during the summer. Citywide Citywide Recreation Sports & Games The PP&R Sports Office is preparing for the approaching Goldenball youth basketball season. Several of the Saturday game sites have job openings for Assistant Gym Hosts. These jobs are non-represented positions. The job hours on Saturdays are 8:45am - 3:15pm. The game season begins January 6th and ends March 11th. The wage is $12.25 per hour. A job training is scheduled at Mt. Tabor Middle School on Saturday, November 18th at noon to 3pm. The meeting hours are paid at the training wage of $11.25 per hour. Start Date: January 6, 2018 Job duties include gym preparation for youth basketball games, customer service, crowd monitoring, site security, problem solving, light custodial duties, minor paperwork, first aid/CPR trained, additional duties required during gym hosting, closing of the facility. Citywide Recreation Inclusion Assistant Inclusion Assistants work one-on-one to support Park participants in a variety of programs. Due to the nature of the position, staff need to be flexible and able to think on their feet. Inclusion Assistants act as an aide in the overall setting of the program, supporting people on an individual basis that aligns with their needs. Applicants to not need specific experience working in a one-on-one setting. However, we will prioritize those that have experience working with children and people with special needs. Mt. Scott Community Center Southeast Instructor Sports & Games Teaching / coaching sports such as basketball (individual classes and supporting our ongoing grade school leagues), soccer & tee ball (possibly tennis and other entry level sports activities) to youth in a welcoming recreational environment. We are building our sports staff support team throughout the fall season going into winter. Positions available now, and ongoing as we grow. Days: Weekday afternoon / evenings, and Saturday mornings. Outdoors - Parks Citywide Youth Program Teen Environmental Educatoin Program Crew Leader Inspire the next generation of conservation leaders through environmental career exposure, job skills, and community building. You will work with a co-teacher to mentor and supervise 12 teens ages 15-17 from diverse backgrounds as they complete important work in our natural areas and get comfortable in nature. You will recruit, interview and select the teens, develop curriculum and lead teens through 10 days of volunteer job exploration, stewardship and outdoor adventure, then help match the teens up with a paid job with Nature Day Camp or Youth Conservation Crew.
